But first, what IS intuitive eating? It’s essentially you learning to be mindful when you eat, listening to your hunger and fullness cues, accepting and loving your body, and getting connected to it.
We go through life making rules around what we should eat, and what we should do to get the “ideal body” that society has portrayed on us. You’re breaking the rules you’ve set for yourself around dieting.
You were BORN and intuitive eater, and you’ve got out of sync with your body so intuitive eating is going to help you get back in sync with it!
I mean, who wants to count or diet for the rest of their life? Eventually, you’ll need to learn to intuitively eat so why not now? I know you don’t want to diet, count food, or hate your body for the rest of your life.
It’s time to make a change.
Here’s what you should know before you intuitively eat:
If you aren’t ready to start today, you aren’t ready to change your life. If you aren’t ready to act in this moment, you’re not sure what you really want.
It’s going to be hard to reframe your mind to ditching the diet mentality and continuously thinking about how much you looked like “her.” But that doesn’t make it impossible.
You were BORN an intuitive eater so you CAN get back to that. If you wait until you’re ready, you’ll never learn how to stop dieting or counting macros/calories/points if you don’t try.
Let’s take it back to the day you were an infant. When you were hungry, you cried for food because you were hungry. You made sure your caregiver knew you were hungry and made sure that happened. That was YOU intuitively eating.
You’ll feel frustrated because you’re having to unlearn YEARS of the diet culture BS. That’s normal! Give yourself permission, and the time it takes to reach that goal.
Remember that you’ve grown up listening and reading how much weight you can lose in 2 weeks, watching tv and thinking, “I wish I looked like her,” watching your mom say that she’s starting a diet….again, and so on. That’s YEARS of information you’re having to unlearn.
Just like you can’t expect to lose the weight in a month when it took years to put on. It’s the same concept.
In fact, you’re rejecting the diet mentality and unlearning diet culture BS. You’re getting rid of the rules like no eating after 8 PM or no more eating foods high in carbs. The ultimate goal of intuitive eating is listening to your internal cues on when or how much you should eat.
For example, you had dinner and maybe even a snack, and you notice you’re hungry when you lie down in bed. Do you eat or no? If you answered, “eat,” then you’re on your path to intuitive eating. If you answered, “no,” then I would encourage you to work on your mindset around your eating habits.

Do you see how there’s more to it than that?
This may seem complicated, but I want to ensure you that it’s not when you learn how properly & successfully intuitively eat. You have to learn how to walk before you run.
