A woman feeling confident in her own skin is the sexiest and strongest thing about her. Not what she has on, how her hair is made up, or how her makeup looks…
Disclaimer: Before I go into my secrets of feeling confident, I want to preface with saying that you’re going to have days where you won’t have a positive body image. That’s normal.
Some days you’re going to try everything on in your closet and hate how everything fits or feel terrible towards your body. We all have those days where the battles are harder to push through.
What you’re seeing in the mirror is not what WE are seeing of you. It’s a battle in your head.
So let’s dive into the secrets to feeling confident <3
Feeling insecure is not foreign to you. It started at a young age, and it’s all you’ve known. The society and the media makes you believe you should look a certain way so you change your body to be accepted.
I know it’s hard loving your body because…
“Beauty is about being comfortable in your own skin. It’s about knowing and accepting who you are.”
You don’t need to be a size 0-2 to be healthy. Having weight, as long as it’s in a healthy range, is okay. Being beautiful isn’t about your looks.
Give it time to be aware of how you’re talking to yourself or how you’re holding yourself up. It’s not something that happens overnight because you’re changing thoughts you’ve been telling yourself for years. When you notice you’re talking negatively towards yourself, stop the thought and reframe it to something you BELIEVE.
2. Stop listening to the media
That includes unfollowing people on the media that doesn’t align with you anymore. The media is both a curse and a blessing. It’s easy to look at other women and compare yourself to them. When you notice you’re comparing yourself to her, congratulate her and yourself. You both have come so far.
3. Surround yourself with people who make you feel good about yourself
When you’re around people who are constantly putting you down, it’s hard to feel good about yourself. Instead, find your circle of people who uplift you and remind you how worthy you are.
4. Work on feeling worthy
You won’t feel confident if you don’t feel worthy. Feeling insecure comes with self-doubt and discomfort. When you feel worthy, you value yourself. You strive to be more because you know you’re worth it. You’re grateful for who you’ve become.
So stop being unhappy with yourself and wishing you looked like her. Be confident with WHO you are, and be happy with yourself. Your happiness isn’t correlated with your body. It comes from how you treat yourself, and the thoughts you have.
Love all of your flaws and imperfections. They make you YOU, and YOU are pretty amazing.
I want you to give yourself grace while reframing the thoughts the society and media has put in your head.
You’ve got this.
Until next time,
Christina <3
