No one prepares you for what it’s going to look like when you’re losing weight, gaining muscle, or even maintaining. Everyone’s struggles are different, but we can all agree that it’s hard. No matter what your goal is.
My goals were like most people’s….
These goals were all fine and well, but do you see something missing?
None of them were focused on my mental health. It was all focused on how I looked. I was an emotional mess, but I’m not going to get into that today.
Let’s take a step into my past self.
You know when you’re going out to eat, and you want a “healthier” option because the other foods make you feel like you’re in a food coma, but there are people saying, “Why don’t you order something good?” And in your you’re thinking, it is good….
That’s just one of many scenarios that I’ve gone through.
They aren’t living your life or hearing your thoughts so they aren’t going to understand, and that’s okay. They don’t have to understand. Just don’t let them dictate your lifestyle.
I hear a lot of women tell me, “Ummmm yes I will? That’s why I started going to the gym and eating healthy.”
This is something you don’t realize until after you’ve reach your primary end goal. The way you feel about yourself is never going to change until you work on your mindset, too.
Dropping a pant size isn’t magically going to change the way you feel. Sure, you may feel more confident, but there’s a difference.
I didn’t truly understand this statement until I actively worked on my goals. I had a lot of 5 am workouts because I was a college student who worked 40+ hours a week.
There’s ALWAYS going to be something going on in your life. Whether you’re going to college, having kids, growing a business or working long hours….
Your responsibilities will change, but your life will always feel hectic. You’ll never “have time,” you have to MAKE the time.
If you’re looking at it as a lifestyle, then you’ll never fail. Because a lifestyle doesn’t mean you’re starting over on Monday or not eating junk food ever again.
These things are not realistic, and it’s not sustainable. Your lifestyle should FEEL sustainable AND achievable.
Sure, you feel more confident in your skin, but you won’t truly be happy with yourself unless you work on your mindset. Your true glow comes from within.
There’s just so much I wish I knew that I’m going to make a Part 2. So stay tuned for that!
Comment below and tell me which one you’re relieved to see!
